Get ready for a tense love triangle in “Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist 2”!
Based on the novel of the same name, “Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist” is a tvN drama starring Kim Min Jae as Yoo Se Poong, a well-known internal medicine doctor who was expelled from the royal court after getting caught up in a conspiracy. In Season 1, he embarked on a mission to become a true doctor who heals the heart after meeting Seo Eun Woo (Kim Hyang Gi) and Gye Ji Han (Kim Sang Kyung) in the strange and beautiful village of Gyesu.
Although Yoo Se Poong and Seo Eun Woo both developed feelings for one another in Season 1, their budding romance will face an unexpected new obstacle in Season 2: the bold and passionate princess Lee Seo Yi (played by Woo Davi).
Lee Seo Yi, who proudly refers to herself as Yoo Se Poong’s first love, has her heart set on marrying the doctor—and she isn’t afraid of being forward when it comes to pursuing him. Her startling honesty about her feelings makes even the usually composed Yoo Se Poong a bit dizzy, but there is something about her unpredictable and spirited charm that makes her impossible to hate.
In newly released stills from the upcoming second season, Lee Seo Yi looks none too pleased after running into Yoo Se Poong and Seo Eun Woo together. After the princess points at her romantic rival with a fierce glare, Seo Eun Woo stares awkwardly down at the floor, while Yoo Se Poong appears to have been caught off guard by Lee Seo Yi’s arrival.
“Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist” director Park Won Gook remarked, “In the drama, Lee Seo Yi is a character who fearlessly races full speed ahead in her quest to win Se Poong’s heart. The contrast between her and Seo Eun Woo, who has a hard time approaching Se Poong [romantically] due to the reality of her circumstances, will be interesting to watch.”
The producers of the drama added, “[Lee Seo Yi] is a reckless princess who has to do everything she sets her heart to. Actress Woo Davi portrayed the character’s bubbly charms in a lovable way, and she will bring a lively new energy to the drama.”
“Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist 2” premieres on January 11 at 10:30 p.m. KST and will be available with subtitles on Dramacool.
