South Korean actress Park Shin Hye donated washers to firefighters to express her gratitude and admiration for their hard work.
The Memories of Alhambra leading lady gifted 20 washers worth 50 million won to Seoul’s Gandong and Songpa Fire Stations. The washers are specifically designed and built for firefighting gears.
In a statement, S.A.L.T. Entertainment, the agency handling the activities of Park, confirmed the donation. According to the agency, the actress felt gratitude toward firefighters who work hard for the community and wanted to help them in their duty through providing them the necessary equipment to make their work better.
Park Shin Hye has always been active in philanthropic and social activities, spearheading various causes and making donations in benefit of charitable institutions and their beneficiaries.
Last year, she donated 50 million won to victims of the Pohang earthquake. In the same year, she was inducted in the Korea Food for the Hungry International’s Philanthropy Club as an acknowledgement of her donations to the cause which amounted to more than US$85,000.
Park has also sponsored children and built a “Shin Hye’s Center” in Ghana and the Philippines which include a library and an audio-visual room for children’s learning.
