Pandora Beneath the Paradise episode 14 takes off with Tae-ra taking the bullet for Jae-hyun which shocks both the latter and Hae-soo, who shot the bullet. However, before either of them have the time to react, a truck is seen rushing towards Jae-hyun and Tae-ra which misses its target when the former reacts quickly and evades it.

Su-jin is seen coming out of the truck and Jae-hyun asks his men to call for an ambulance for Tae-ra which Su-jin is secretly been taken care of. Tae-ra is rushed to the hospital while Jae-hyun catches a slight glimpse of Hae-soo who is taken away by Park Jun-ho who immediately calls Do-jin.

Hae-soo is shocked by what has happened and cannot stop regretting her actions while Jun-ho rushes to the hospital to get updates on Tae-ra. Meanwhile, the doctors confirm that the bullet has just missed Tae-ra but nothing can be said about the chip inside her head. Jae-hyun then proceeds to calm the press and confirms that it was just a crazy fan.

Jun-ho passes this information to Hae-soo and Do-jin and promises to keep them updated but Hae-soo is not satisfied and decides to go check on Tae-ra herself. Meanwhile, the news of the attack reaches everywhere which becomes an opportunity for the opposition party leader and Geun-mo to attack Jae-hyun.

Elsewhere, Jae-hyun tells Tae-ra that it was Hae-soo who shot the bullet but the latter pretends to not believe it when Sung-chan calls Jae-hyun and tells him that he is at his secret lab. Jae-hyun rushes there and is frustrated by Sung-chan who is happy to have a card against him.

Meanwhile, Hae-soo secretly visits Tae-ra and apologises for what she did and tells her that she no longer desires revenge if it is going to end up hurting the people she cares about. Tae-ra is no longer able to keep the act and reveals to Hae-soo that she had been pretending to have forgotten everything.

She did not want to involve them any longer which is why she did this. Elsewhere, Jae-hyun is angered by Sung-chan and takes it out on Pil-seung who is being made the test subject in his secret lab.

Later, Do-jin and Hae-soo return home where Kyo-jin arrives to meet the latter and reveals that Su-jin is none other than Su-jeong, and she was the one who tried to attack Jae-hyun earlier. Do-jin then looks at the footage of Su-jin being taken away and realises that Sung-chan had been following them too.

Just then, Kyo-jin gets a call from Yeong-hwee and tells her that Do-jin has planned to reveal his father’s crimes to everyone and asks her to leave him alone. However, Yeong-hwee now has something else planned after knowing this information.

The next day, Tae-ra returns home with Jae-hyun but the latter soon has to leave after which Do-jin arrives at their house with the reason of picking up his son Leo. He then passes on information from Kyo-jin as well as a phone to connect with him and a watch which has a recording device to keep an eye on Sung-chan as he is the one who knows about Su-jin’s whereabouts.

Tae-ra then tells him that she must have been kept at Jae-hyun’s secret lab where her brother is being kept too. She also passes on the evidence against Geun-mo and his connection to Kim Seon-deok which can help him in his plan.

Meanwhile, Jae-hyun spots Hae-soo while leaving the townhouse and immediately pulls over to choke her while leaving a warning to never harm Tae-ra again. Elsewhere, the opposition leader is going around campaigning in full force which worries those working for Jae-hyun, but the latter has everything prepared as he calms them down with the video of the leader and Geun-mo having a secret meeting.

On the other hand, the police arrive to arrest Geun-mo at his house under the charge of assassinating former president Ko Tae-sun. He is soon taken to the police while Tae-ra hands a gift to Hae-soo to wear while reporting about Geun-mo’s crimes. Later, Tae-ra gifts Sung-chan the watch which was given to her by Kyo-jin as congratulations for becoming the CEO of Hatch.

Elsewhere, Geun-mo is questioned by the police and is surprised by the evidence and charges against him, but what shocks him, even more, is that Jae-hyun has his hands on the evidence left behind by Mr Ahn for him which now leaves Geun-mo with nothing to hold against him.

If this was not enough then he is once again hit when Do-jin arrives to submit more evidence against him as he sides with Hae-soo. The evidence is clear and as Geun-mo leaves, the media surrounds him and Hae-soo is standing among them as she finally gets to report on the truth behind her father’s assassination.

She then resigns from her post and takes up the role of the victim’s family while Do-jin proceeds to hold a press conference where he tries to reveal the truth about Hatch. However, he is unable to do so as the police arrive to arrest him for fraud.

Meanwhile, Tae-ra continues to keep an eye on Sung-chan but suddenly experiences the side effects of the chip inside her head which has her running to her medicines. Later, she talks to Jae-hyun about the earlier events but the latter tells her to stay away from Hae-soo and the others.

She then eavesdrops on him speaking about handing some documents to the person and decides to follow him. Meanwhile, Kyo-jin comes close to Jae-hyun’s secret lab when he gets a call from Hae-soo asking him to come back soon. She then tells him about what happened and Kyo-jin soon figures out that it is his mother who has been helping jae-hyun this whole time.

On the other hand, Jae-hyun hands over his shares to Yeong-hwee to take care of until his return and asks her to keep a check on Kyo-jin. Tae-ra hears this conversation and passes on the information to Kyo-jin who later confronts his mother and promises to bring down the Kum-jo group.

However, his mother blackmails him by letting him know that she will reveal Tae-ra’s reality to the world if he ever tries to do anything. The elections soon begin and the voting is taking place when Jae-hyun gets to know about Kyo-jin’s movements. Meanwhile, Tae-ra and Kyo-jin cannot wait to keep searching for the entrance of the lab and decide to force Jae-hyun and Sung-chan to reveal the entrance.

Pandora Beneath the Paradise episode 14 ends later that evening when the exit poll is revealed and it looks like Jae-hyun is going to lose, during this time he gets a notification that the power supply to the laboratory has been cut. Sung-chan is then seen rushing to the lab when Kyo-jin arrives behind him and makes him unconscious before entering the lab himself.

Tae-ra continues to listen to what is happening on Sung-chan’s end when she finds out that this was a set-up to trap Kyo-jin inside the lab. Sung-chan soon gets up and follows Jae-hyun’s instructions as he tells him the location of the denotator that will blow up the whole lab while Kyo-jin is inside.

This shocks Tae-ra as she tries to connect to Kyo-jin, who is busy searching for her brother and Su-jeong. Kyo-jin soon finds them but before they can leave, Su-jeong stops them to get some data from the lab. Tae-ra is finally able to connect with Kyo-jin and reveals that there are explosives inside the lab which are about to blow up the place.

However, it seems like it is too late as Sung-chan pushes the button and ends up bringing the lab to the ground. Tae-ra soon arrives to see the destroyed scene while the election results are finally revealed and it is Jae-hyun who has won the elections.

Thus, while Tae-ra sobs for her loved ones, Jae-hyun becomes the next President.

Pandora Beneath the Paradise Episode 14 Review

This has to be one of the most exciting episodes of this season which has definitely cleared up the air around some characters, and for once, we actually appreciate Hae-soo. When it came to a life and death situation, it no longer matter how messy their relationship had become because at this moment, Hae-soo really cared for Tae-ra and it is nice to see her reveal this to Tae-ra.

On the other hand, Jae-hyun has really proved himself to be an OP villain who has all the cards in his hand and knows when to strike. It won’t be a surprise if his campaigning team starts bowing to him because of how well he has kept them at ease in this episode while also subtly showing that he is not one to mess with.

However, after all this, it looks like the end of this show is quite clear and it is going to be a tear-jerker for Jiu who is soon to lose both her parents. This reminds me of how Leo told Hae-soo that he is jealous of Jiu, but it looks like soon it will be Jiu who will be taking his place.

Tae-ra is sure to die because of the chip inside her brain and it looks like she is going to assassinate the new president, who is also her husband, in the upcoming finale weekend. This will lead to Hae-soo taking care of Jiu and a new game will begin with Jiu at the centre, but this would be if we ever get another season of this show.

But let us not go there, for now, the end of Pandora Beneath the Paradise looks to be quite clear, but knowing the way Kdramas love to shock us with plot twists, let us looks forward to the finale weekend of the show.
