NewJeans is proving their stability on both the Billboard 200 and Hot 100!
On September 6 local time, Billboard announced that NewJeans’ second mini album “Get Up” had stayed strong at No. 24 in its sixth consecutive week on the Top 200 Albums chart.
As a result, NewJeans has become the first K-pop girl group in history to chart an album for six consecutive weeks in the top 25 of the Billboard 200.
Meanwhile, NewJeans’ hit single “Super Shy” ranked No. 95 on Billboard’s Hot 100, marking its eighth consecutive week on the chart.
“Super Shy” has now tied the record set by BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez’s 2020 collab “Ice Cream” for the second longest-charting K-pop girl group song in the history of the Hot 100. To date, the only K-pop girl group song to spend over eight weeks on the chart is FIFTY FIFTY’s “Cupid.”
“Get Up” also climbed back up to No. 1 on Billboard’s World Albums chart this week, marking its fifth week at the top. The album rose to No. 3 on the Top Current Album Sales chart and No. 4 on the Top Album Sales chart this week, in addition to ranking No. 13 on the Tastemaker Albums chart.
On Billboard’s Global Excl. U.S. chart, “Super Shy” took No. 7 this week, followed by “ETA” at No. 19, “OMG” at No. 80, “New Jeans” at No. 83, “Ditto” at No. 91, “Hype Boy” at No. 114, and “Cool With You” at No. 141.
