“Remember” has dropped a look at Nam Joo Hyuk’s upcoming return to the big screen!
Upcoming film “Remember” tells the story of Pil Joo (Lee Sung Min), an old man in his eighties with Alzheimer’s disease who has lost everything to pro-Japanese groups during the Japanese occupation of Korea and goes on to plot his revenge. Nam Joo Hyuk stars as In Gyu, a young man in his twenties who works alongside social butterfly Pil Joo at a family restaurant and unintentionally winds up in his plot for revenge.
When Pil Joo offers In Gyu a hefty paycheck in exchange for rides for one week, In Gyu is quick to accept. However, while driving Pil Joo around, In Gyu gets caught on a CCTV and is pinpointed as a case suspect. Despite their massive age gap, the two are known at the restaurant for their close friendship, but once they embark on this journey, the Pil Joo that In Gyu knows is now only one side of him. With a mysterious case occurring at each place he drives Pil Joo to, In Gyu is left confused and panicked.
Through his role as In Gyu, Nam Joo Hyuk will demonstrate a wide variety of emotion changes. As he falls deeper and deeper into Pil Joo’s revenge plot, viewers will be able to relate to In Gyu’s curiosity as he bombards his coworker with endless questions.
Nam Joo Hyuk remarked, “I felt charmed that this was a character I hadn’t done until now. The process of expressing a variety of emotion changes in a situation he unintentionally gets wrapped up in was interesting.” Director Lee Il Hyung added, “[Nam Joo Hyuk] abundantly expressed the character of In Gyu, a typical young man in his twenties, and did well creating the chemistry and friendship between Pil Joo and In Gyu, who transcend generations.”
“Remember” will hit theaters on October 26.
