Mystic Entertainment Changes Name As It Broadens Its Horizons
Mar 25, 2019
Mystic Entertainment has officially changed its company name to Mystic Story.
On March 22, Mystic Entertainment held a shareholders’ meeting to officially change the company name to align with its vision to move beyond just being an entertainment company. The word ‘story’ was derived from the idea that any media content comes from a story. Mystic Story plans to expand their business to include creating variety shows, dramas, and movies. They hope that their creations will have a lasting effect rather than an instant achievement.
Musician Yoon Jong Shin, producing director Yeo Woon Hyuk, lyricist Kim Eana, comedian Kim Young Chul, and Kian 84 will be leading the company’s aspirations as they create fresh new content in their respective fields.
Mystic Story’s executive director Jo Young Chul stated, “The company name change symbolizes our company’s shift towards producing content with meaningful stories in the form of music, movies, variety shows, and other genres. We will continue to do our best to create our own unique productions.”
The first production Mystic Story will be releasing under their new name is Netflix’s “Persona.” It is a short film project that features four different directors (Lee Kyung Mi, Im Pil Sung, Jeon Go Woon, and Kim Jong Kwan) who each use various themes and concepts to tell the main character’s story in a different way. IU plays the main character and “Persona” will be available on Netflix on April 5.
