Musical actor gets 5-year jail term for rape

A court has sentenced musical actor Kang Sung-wook, 34, to five years in prison for raping a barmaid. 
The Seoul Central District Court also ordered Kang to undertake 40 hours of an anti-sexual crime program and banned him from having a job at child-related organizations and welfare facilities for the disabled for five years after release.
Kang was charged with raping the barmaid while drinking alcohol with her at his home in Busan in August 2017. He has appealed the ruling. 
The actor maintained his innocence, claiming the victim made a false accusation. But the court rejected it. 
Kang made his musical debut in 2015 through "Phantom." He has featured in several TV shows, including Channel A's reality dating show "Heart Signal."
