JTBC's Monday-Tuesday drama "The Moment of Eighteen," which first aired on Tuesday, has garnered positive reviews by tapping on viewers' emotions. In addition to the enthusiastic response, the ratings for the first episode hit 3.0 percent nationwide and 3.7 percent for the metropolitan area (based on Nielsen Korea, paid households), signaling a good start.
The best minute that recorded 4.9 percent of viewers per minute was when Su Bin (Kim Hyang-gi) proposed to his former student runner-up (Yong Seong-woo) to join his performance evaluation group. "You don't have to let me in your group," Su Bin's longtime friend Hwi-young (Shin Seung-ho) hinted at the start of a fresh love triangle between the 18 year old boys and girls, paying attention to Subin's kindness toward Jun-woo.
The show showed the runner-up (Yong Seong-woo), who faced a crisis at the same time as entering Cheonbong-go. My transfer to school was not smooth from the beginning. On the day he visited Hwi-young's academy through part-time delivery at convenience stores, Jun-woo was suspected of being the culprit in the theft as his high-end watch disappeared. Amid the misunderstanding and prejudice that followed him like a tag, he faced a situation where he had to transfer again due to false accusations.
A boy who has become used to loneliness by staying away from his mother, a family member, Su Bin, an honor student who has to live with sexual stress on his greedy mother's torch, and Hwi-young, who hides his inner complex while being compared to his perfect brother. Each of the 18 "Pre-Youth" stories from the first episode was enough to arouse viewers' sympathy.
