Merry Lee Decides To Cancel Her “Me Too” Press Conference

Merry Lee has revealed that she will not be proceeding with her “Me Too” press conference scheduled for April.

On March 29, Merry Lee spoke with news outlet Sports DongA and stated, “I will not be holding the press conference.” She reportedly stated that the things she wants to say have already become known through several interviews, and that she feels mentally overwhelmed.

Previously, Merry Lee revealed that she had been a victim of sexual harassment and and forced to serve drinks for public figures. She planned to expose the names of these public figures through her “Me Too” press conference in early April. On March 27, she shared additional instances of the sexual harassment she was forced to endure.

Merry Lee continued, “I felt exhausted after reckless news articles came out, and my mother is having a hard time. The work that I’m doing in Qatar, which is where I’m currently residing, is important too, so I will focus on that.” Merry Lee is currently working as a promotional ambassador for the 2020 Qatar World Cup.

She had prepared for the press conference with a civic organization group and stayed in close contact with them while residing in Qatar. A source from the organization had stated that Merry Lee would “reveal past stories of sexual harassment by public figures in the academic, political, and financial worlds.”

On the same day, Kim Sang Min, secretary general of the organization, said, “The press conference has not yet been canceled. We’re currently trying to persuade [Merry Lee].” He also added, “We must respect the victim Merry Lee’s decision. Please do not attack her.”
