Episode 10 of Marry My Husband begins with Min-hwan throwing a tantrum after Ji-won breaks up with him. His mother also tells him off for bringing such an improper girl. Min-hwan storms up to Ji-won’s house but she seems to be at a different apartment. Ji-hyuk and Hui-yeon turn up with housewarming gifts and we realise that Ji-won moved houses. When a man opens the door of her old apartment, Min-hwan realises it too.
At Ji-won’s new house, Hui-yeon discusses how Ji-won is paying rent to Ji-hyuk and living in the same building as him too. Hui-yeon then sees both of them share a moment. When they leave, Hui-yeon needles Ji-hyuk and asks if he likes Ji-won. He insists that he’s just helping her.
At work the next day, Min-hwan storms up to Ji-won but before he can do anything Ji-won slaps him. She outs him as a cheater by displaying red panties in front of everyone, which she claims to have found in his car. She seals the deal by throwing the engagement ring. Rumours about Min-hwan’s affair are quick to spread through the office. Min-hwan rounds on Su-min but she says the panties aren’t hers.
Joo-ran and Hui-yeon offer comfort to Ji-won. The other girls ask Ji-won if she knows who the girl is. Elsewhere, Su-min tells Min-hwan that he fell in love and did nothing wrong. Min-hwan turns Su-min down by telling she’s not marriage material. Manager Gyeong-uk, who has returned to work, suddenly appears on the scene and attacks Min-hwan for hurting Su-min. A crowd gathers and people realise Su-min is the woman he had an affair with.
The gossip and dramatics keep increasing. Ji-won is at her new home when Su-min messages and asks her to not believe others. Ji-won doesn’t respond.
The next day, there is an issue with the marketing for meal kits and it is found to be Min-hwan and Su-min’s fault. After the issue at the supermarket, they blamed the shop itself and as a result their product was placed at the back. Joo-ran tells both of them off and once again their coworkers look down on them. Seok-jun, in his role as HR, tells Min-hwan that he will be transferred to a different department. Su-min is told that, as a contract worker, she will be let go. At home, a distraught Su-min tries to call Ji-won again but can’t get through.
Seok-jun delivers another shocker, this time to Gyeong-uk, by telling him that Joo-ran will become his boss. Unable to accept it, he resigns. He tries to order Joo-ran around one last time but Ji-won tells her not to oblige.
Meanwhile, Joo-ran keeps getting stomach aches. She then comes across Seok-jun in a storeroom. A flashback shows part of their conversation from the past, where Seok-jun told her off for jumping to conclusions about people. She then admits that Ji-won should get promoted for the meal kit project instead of her. When he criticises her for being a pushover, she praises him for his straightforwardness. Back in the main office, Joo-ran confesses to Ji-won that she should have done this earlier itself. Ji-won appreciates it. Just then, Hui-yeon runs in and tells them to come down.
Downstairs, the couple from Jomart is making a huge scene. The woman slaps Ji-won and accuses her of blaming them for faking the allergy incident. Ji-won sees the letter they are talking about posted online, in her handwriting and written in her name. But she knows Su-min faked it. She calls Su-min out, who is trying to quietly exit the building. Ji-won pulls her towards the couple and shows them proof of Su-min’s schemes, including a fake Instagram profile in Ji-won’s name.
Once again, Su-min is exposed in front of everyone and apologises to the couple as well as Ji-won. While begging to Ji-won, she reveals that she’s pregnant.
Later, Min-hwan, utterly shaken by the pregnancy reveal, drinks on his own. He gets drunk and falls on the street, when two men kidnap him and tie him up. They’re none other than Ji-hyuk’s friends, who pretend to be loan sharks asking for payment. Min-hwan says he’ll be married soon and promises to pay with his parents’ money.
Afterwards, Ji-hyuk thanks his friends for doing this. Min-hwan approaches his mother and asks for money but gets a beating he rightfully deserved. He then goes to Su-min and tries to make up for his harsh words. Su-min continues to lament how Ji-won always stood by her no matter what. Min-hwan offers to be that person for her and asks her to marry him.
Ji-won has a drink with Hui-yeon and Joo-ran at Eun-ho’s bar. She wonders how Su-min is pregnant since she is positive that Min-hwan has azoospermia.
Seok-jun offers a full report of the happenings to Ji-hyuk’s grandfather, who decides to meet Ji-won. Ji-won is invited over and they have a frank discussion. Ji-hyuk burst in, angry at his grandfather, but Ji-won tells him the conversation was fine. Meanwhile, Su-min puts up an anonymous ad for a positive pregnancy test and a sonography photo.
Ji-hyuk tells Ji-won about Min-hwan’s financial issues which will pressure him to get married. He then teaches Ji-won to shoot a rifle, while inwardly thinking about how much he cares about her.
It’s now Christmas time and both Ji-won and Hui-yeon are having a meal at her new apartment. Eun-ho calls and Hui-yeon forces Ji-won to pick up the phone. The next thing we see is Eun-ho awkwardly driving up in his car. While discussing his driving, Eun-ho and Hui-yeon reveal that Ji-hyuk gets drunk and passes out at his restaurant. Hui-yeon then claims to have other Christmas plans and leaves the two on their own.
Except that was a lie and she goes up to hang out with her brother. Ji-hyuk is having ice-cream and looks to be in a sour mood. Even though he was the one who told her to set Ji-won up. Meanwhile, Ji-won and Eun-ho have a great time at an ice rink. But Ji-won then pictures herself there with Ji-hyuk. When he drops her off, Ji-won gently implies that she sees him as a friend and nothing more. He’s let down but they leave things on a happy note.
While walking towards the door, Ji-won sees Ji-hyuk waiting outside. She tells him she has something to say. They go to his apartment which is all decked out with Christmas decorations. He admits he overheard her conversation with Eun-ho and asks why she turned him down. Ji-won admits she kept thinking about Ji-hyuk while she was with Eun-ho. She confesses how important he is to her and leans in to kiss him. He passionately kisses her back and the episode comes to a close.
The drama continues! Episode 10 takes the tension and theatricals to an even higher level and it is a delight to watch. Ji-won stages a public breakup and exposes Min-hwan in front of everybody. Su-min’s own actions come back to bite her as Gyeong-uk is the reason people find out about her involvement. Her fake pregnancy is also soap-opera level drama and I can’t wait to see how it unfolds.
What’s interesting is the more we learn about Su-min, the more she seems obsessed with Ji-won. Earlier, she came across as someone who only considers herself. But as the episodes go by, she seems curiously obsessed with having Ji-won under her thumb. Either way, watching her and Min-hwan go through such misery is an absolute joy, seeing as they are just getting what they deserve.
Amongst all the drama, Ji-hyuk’s character is now feeling a bit monotonous. While his dejection is understandable, his expressions seem one-note and as a character he seems to wallow in his angst a bit too much. But with the turn of events at the end of this episode, things are bound to change! Hopefully, the show keeps this high level of energy and emotion through the rest of the episodes as well.
