Web novel “Genius Fortune Teller Geum Tae Young” (literal translation) is being made into a drama!
Copin Communications recently announced that web novel “Genius Fortune Teller Geum Tae Young” was being remade into a drama and confirmed the cast! In a fun and simplified manner, this mystery drama deals with the four pillars of destiny, an asian fortune-telling concept that is currently gaining just as much global popularity as western astrology. “Genius Fortune Teller Geum Tae Young” combines a detective story about fortune telling with a youth romance and will air a total of 30 15-minute episodes.
Geum Tae Young will be portrayed by Marco, a former member of HBY and project group UNB, who impressively beat a competition rate of 1:100 for the role. He will develop a romance with the uniquely charming young fortune teller Min So Yeo, who will be played by Ji Seung Hyun.
Rookie actress Chae Soo Ah will also join as Jung Ah Jin, the focus of the drama’s first case. Actor Lee Dong Yong from “Squid Game,” “Hellbound,” “Bloody Heart,” “Mr. Sunshine,” and more will play master Myung Seung who fatefully connects the two main characters together.
Marco will star as Geum Tae Young, who writes martial arts novels based on fortune telling. Once Geum Tae Young meets master Myung Seung who recognizes his talent and potential, he’s able to upgrade and fortify his fortune-telling skills. Alongside Min So Yeo, Geum Tae Young tells the fortunes of clients and resolves various unprecedented incidents. On top of this, the drama will unfold a never-before-seen romance between two young fortune tellers.
YouTube drama “Genius Fortune Teller Geum Tae Young” will film one episode weekly and release a total of 30 episodes. The drama will premiere through Studio Japangi’s YouTube channel on August 15 and one episode will air every week for a total of eight months.
