SBS’s new drama “The Killing Vote” has dropped new stills!
Based on a popular Kakao webtoon, “The Killing Vote” asks the question “What is your idea of justice?” and delves into the concept of a nationwide death penalty vote against vicious criminals who deftly manage to escape the law’s blind spots. The drama highlights the story of a mysterious figure known as “Gae Tal” (dog mask), who executes the death penalty depending on the results of a vote, and the police who are pursuing them. Park Hae Jin stars as Kim Moo Chan, an investigation team leader at a provincial police agency, while Lim Ji Yeon plays Joo Hyun, a lieutenant who works for the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s Cyber Security Bureau.
Previously, the second national death penalty vote took place as Gae Tal forecasted. This time, the target was Eom Eun Kyung (Jung Hae Na), who drove her three husbands to death and received 10 billion won (approximately $7.6 million) for insurance on her spouses’ deaths but was released due to insufficient evidence. Kim Moo Chan hopped on Eom Eun Kyung’s car where Gae Tal planted a time bomb and provoked Gae Tal over the phone, asking if it is still justice that he claims to be if he were to get sacrificed together with the target. However, Gae Tal did not stop the clock, and eventually the bomb exploded.
In the midst of all this, the newly released stills feature Joo Hyun looking at the car engulfed in flames with desperate eyes. Viewers are curious to find out whether Kim Moo Chan is really dead or not.
The production team remarked, “In episode 3, which airs today (August 24), whether Kim Moo Chan is dead or alive will be revealed. On top of this, the perspectives of the media, the people, and public opinion begin to diverge after the incident of the second national death penalty vote. Whether it is positive or negative, [the incident] shows that the killing vote has an enormous ripple effect, and it will also make viewers reflect on ‘righteous justice’ once again. We ask for lots of interest and anticipation from the viewers.”
The next episode of “The Killing Vote” will air on August 24 at 9 p.m. KST. Stay tuned!
