Lee Yi Kyung and Shin Hyun Soo will make you laugh uncontrollably on “Welcome to Waikiki 2”!
In the second season of the show, Lee Joon Ki (Lee Yi Kyung) will get his old high school friends Cha Woo Shik (Kim Seon Ho) and Kook Ki Bong (Shin Hyun Soo) to help him keep his guest house Waikiki running. After releasing stills of Kim Seon Ho encountering bad fortune wherever he goes, JTBC has released stills of Lee Yi Kyung and Shin Hyun Soo!
Though it seemed like Lee Joon Ki had found success as Song Joon Seok of ‘News Room’ in the previous season, for some reason, he is back to auditioning for small roles again. He auditions for all sorts of roles wearing outfits from “Kill Bill” and “The Face Reader.” In one picture, he causes a huge commotion with a fire extinguisher.
The production staff stated, “Lee Yi Kyung, who is as bright and energetic as ever, will bring even more laughter as the strong core of the drama. Please look forward to the second season, as we are back with Joon Ki, who received lots of love.”
Shin Hyun Soo plays Kook Ki Bong, a professional baseball player who ends up playing in the minor league after a shoulder injury. He is more comfortable with using his body rather than his head, and as a result, he is easily deceived. Persuaded by Lee Joon Ki, he uses all of his money to join Waikiki, and his life starts going downhill from then on. In the stills, Shin Hyun Soo has the most innocent expression on his face that perfectly portray the naive character he plays. In other photos, he grabs his stomach in pain and cries with bloated eyes, making viewers anticipate lots of trouble awaiting the poor character.
“Shin Hyun Soo is practically Kook Ki Bong himself with his friend-like, innocent charms. Fully synchronized with his character, his acting will be funny in a way that’s different from Kim Seon Ho and Lee Yi Kyung. Shin Hyun Soo’s presence will shine brightly and make viewers laugh and relate with him, so please look forward to it.”
Meanwhile, “Welcome to Waikiki 2” will premiere on March 25 at 9:30 p.m. KST via JTBC as the follow-up to “Radiant.” It will be available on Viki with English subtitles.
