Both Lee Jung Jae and Jung Woo Sung have officially become members of the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association’s Honors Club!
On August 3, the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association announced, “Lee Jung Jae and Jung Woo Sung have joined the ‘Hope Bridge Honors Club’ for major donors.”
The Hope Bridge Honors Club consists of members who have donated at least 100 million won (approximately $76,433) to aid disaster victims.
Jung Woo Sung made his first donation to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association back in 2003, and in the years since, he has donated a total of 210 million won (approximately $160,511) to help the victims of various disasters. The actor most recently made a generous donation of 100 million won to aid wildfire victims this past March.
Meanwhile, Lee Jung Jae has donated a total of 150 million won (approximately $114,651) to help victims of two different wildfires in the past.
While the two actors had both initially been reluctant to publicize their donations, they agreed to join the Honors Club after the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association asked them to help increase awareness of donating and “sharing culture.”
Lee Jung Jae and Jung Woo Sung’s agency Artist Company commented, “Both [actors] have always been very interested in helping their neighbors who are facing difficult social or financial situations. Helping disaster victims whose lives have exploded in a single moment due to a disaster, so that they can return to their everyday routines as quickly as possible, is one part of that. The two of them will also join in helping spread awareness of sharing culture.”
Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association Secretary-General Kim Jung Hee remarked, “We sincerely give deep thanks to the two national actors, who have become a huge source of strength for our disaster victim neighbors by joining the Hope Bridge Honors Club.”
