tvN’s “Arthdal Chronicles 2” has unveiled new stills ahead of tonight’s episode!
“Arthdal Chronicles” is an epic fantasy drama about the mythical ancient land of Arth. Four years after the end of the first season, the series returned with its second season “Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun.”
“Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun” is set approximately a decade after Season 1, with Lee Joon Gi and Shin Se Kyung joining the cast as older versions of the original leads. Lee Joon Gi plays the dual roles of twins Eun Seom and Sa Ya (played by Song Joong Ki in Season 1), while Shin Se Kyung takes on the role of Tan Ya (originally played by Kim Ji Won). Jang Dong Gun reprised his role as Ta Gon, the first king of Arthdal, and Kim Ok Bin plays his queen Tae Al Ha.
Previously in episode 1, Sa Ya learned that his twin brother Eun Seom is the hero of the Ago tribe Inaishingi, while Sa Ya became the commander-in-chief of Arthdal, leading them to face off against each other as the heads of opposing forces.
After learning this news, High Priestess Tan Ya performed a ceremony for commander-in-chief Sa Ya as he prepared to head off to battle, and she pleaded with him to spare Eun Seom.
The newly released stills preview a battle field filled with determination and resolution. Sa Ya, who is watching the battle unfold, is also filled with determination, and the army that advances forward through the fog instills fear with their overwhelming power.
However, Eun Seom appears to be expecting their arrival as he looks at the Arthdal army with a fierce gaze. Although the equipment and weapons of his forces appear shabby and ragged in comparison to the Arthdal army, they won’t lose in terms of fighting spirit.
With Eun Seom not knowing that his twin brother is the head of the enemy army and Inaishingi Eun Seom being the long-lost younger twin that Sa Ya had been searching for, viewers are curious to find out who will come out victorious in this upcoming battle.
The next episode of “Arthdal Chronicles 2” airs on September 10 at 9:20 p.m. KST. Check out more stills below!
