tvN’s “Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938” has shared an intriguing sneak peek of its upcoming third episode!
“Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938” is a sequel to the hit 2020 drama “Tale of the Nine-Tailed,” which told the story of the male gumiho (mythical nine-tailed fox) Yi Yeon (played by Lee Dong Wook) in the present day. However, in the new sequel, he unexpectedly finds himself back in 1938, and he embarks on an eventful adventure in his quest to return to the present.
Previously on “Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938,” Yi Yeon was reunited with Ryu Hong Joo (Kim So Yeon) and Cheon Moo Young (Ryu Kyung Soo), with whom he had been inseparable during his childhood. While Ryu Hong Joo set her sights on winning Yi Yeon over, Cheon Moo Young—who turned out to be the mystery man in the red and white mask—appeared to have a personal vendetta against Yi Yeon for unknown reasons.
In newly released stills from the drama’s next episode, Ryu Hong Joo gets closer to a helpless Yi Yeon as the gumiho finds himself blindfolded and at her mercy. Despite Yi Yeon’s best attempts to remain calm, he is visibly taken aback when Ryu Hong Joo boldly puts her hands on him during his moment of vulnerability.
Meanwhile, another set of photos shows the blindfolded Yi Yeon being attacked late at night. Notably, Ryu Hong Joo makes no attempt to intervene as she watches the incident from afar, raising the question of what her motives might be.
The producers of “Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938” teased, “There will be a change in the relationship between Yi Yeon, Ryu Hong Joo, and Cheon Moo Young, who wind up aiming their swords at one another. Also, more of Yi Yeon’s backstory from his mountain god days will be revealed.”
The next episode of “Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938” will air on May 13 at 9:20 p.m. KST.
