Regarding his big screen debut, the actor expressed, “In some ways, it was a very big challenge for me, and I was also a little scared because I never had the experience [of filming a movie] before. Lee Do Hyun also shared stories behind his impressive new transformation. He said, “From the beginning, the director gave me an idea, saying, ‘I want Bong Gil to have a strong first impression. If it’s okay with you, I’d like his hair to be tied up or loose with a wig and his body covered up tattoos.’ I readily agreed, thinking, ‘When will I get a chance to do something like this again?’”

When asked about memorable moments from preparing or filming the scene where Bong Gil gets possessed by the spirit of a Japanese samurai, Lee Do Hyun replied, “I wanted to get a hint from the director’s previous project. In ‘The Priests,’ Park So Dam plays a scene where she was possessed, and I studied it by replaying that scene many times.”

He added, “Also, I didn’t want my Japanese to be awkward, so I did a lot of preparation such as memorizing Japanese lines by myself at home.”

Lee Do Hyun also shared his impression of working together with senior actors Choi Min Sik, Yoo Hae Jin, and Kim Go Eun. He shared, “My first thought was, ‘Let’s make sure I do the basics. My seniors will lead me well, so let me just follow along well. Let’s not be a nuisance.’ I was also really happy and excited. They are senior actors whom I really wanted to act with once, so it was an honor just to meet and talk with them beyond working together. I was so grateful that I had this opportunity to act together with them.”
