KBS 2TV’s new historical drama “Korea-Khitan War” is off to a strong start!
On November 11, the ambitious new series starring ZE:A’s Kim Dong Jun—which is a special project commemorating KBS’s 50th anniversary—premiered to promising ratings. According to Nielsen Korea, the first episode of “Korea-Khitan War” scored an average nationwide rating of 5.5 percent.
tvN’s “Castaway Diva,” which airs in the same time slot as “Korea-Khitan War,” saw a dip in viewership amidst this new competition from KBS. After reaching an all-time high of 8.0 percent for its previous episode last week, “Castaway Diva” fell to an average nationwide rating of 5.4 percent for the night, though it still remained first place in its time slot across all cable channels.
Meanwhile, MBC’s hit historical romance “My Dearest” rose to an average nationwide rating of 11.6 percent ahead of its final week, taking first place in its time slot across all channels by an overwhelming margin.
“My Dearest” was also the most-watched program of any kind to air on Saturday among the key demographic of viewers ages 20 to 49, with whom it earned an average rating of 4.2 percent.
SBS’s “The Escape of the Seven,” which shares a time slot with “My Dearest,” maintained its average nationwide rating of 5.2 percent from the night before.
JTBC’s “Strong Girl Namsoon” took first place in its time slot across all cable channels with an average nationwide rating of 7.6 percent, while MBN’s new drama “Perfect Marriage Revenge” earned a nationwide average of 1.6 percent for its fifth episode.
Finally, KBS 2TV’s “Live Your Own Life” continued its reign as the most-watched program of Saturday with an average nationwide rating of 15.5 percent.
