Kim Nam Gil and Kim Young Kwang will be starring in a new action drama together!
On October 25, Netflix confirmed the production of their new original series “Trigger” and its main cast lineup.
“Trigger” is an action thriller drama that follows two men who are trying to solve the mess that ensues after firearms are suddenly widely available in South Korea, a gun-free country, through an unknown source. While one man believes guns must be used in order to defend the weak, the other insists that no man should ever use a gun.
Kim Nam Gil plays the role of Lee Do, a former military sniper and Olympic gold medalist who now works as a police officer with a strong sense of justice. Kim Nam Gil, who showcased his wide acting spectrum by starring in various projects including dramas such as “Song of the Bandits” and “Through the Darkness” as well as the films “Emergency Declaration,” “Okay Madam,” “Memoir of a Murderer,” and “The Pirates,” will draw out the struggles of Lee Do who pursues the source of illegal firearms at the center of a series of shooting incidents.
Kim Young Kwang takes on the role of Moon Baek, a key figure in the world of firearm dealing. Kim Young Kwang, who showcased solid acting skills in various dramas such as “The Secret Life of My Secretary” and “Call It Love” as well as the films “Mission Possible” and “Your Wedding,” is expected to perfectly portray the dual sides of his character Moon Baek, who appears easygoing on the outside while carrying out a meticulous plan.
