Upcoming film “Smugglers” has unveiled character stills for Kim Hye Soo, Yum Jung Ah, Jo In Sung, and more!
Set in the 1970s in a small, peaceful village by the sea, “Smugglers” tells the story of deep sea divers who unexpectedly get tangled up in a high-stakes smuggling scheme. The movie is helmed by Ryu Seung Wan, the director behind the hit films “Escape from Mogadishu,” “The Battleship Island,” “Veteran,” “The Berlin File,” “The Unjust,” and more.
With an intense glare that could tear the screen apart, Kim Hye Soo portrays Jo Chun Ja, a deep sea diver who joins a smuggling ring.
Yum Jung Ah, who plays the role of Eom Jin Suk, Chun Ja’s best friend, exudes charisma as the serious yet loyal leader of the deep sea divers.
Reuniting with director Ryu Seung Wan for the second time following “Escape From Mogadishu,” Jo In Sung brings his entrepreneurial side and vicious temperament to the role of Sergeant Kwon, a national smuggling kingpin.
Next, Park Jung Min plays Jang Do Ri, the youngest among the deep sea divers. He goes from being the naive youngest to becoming a smuggler.
Kim Jong Soo plays the role of Lee Jang Chun, a customs officer who catches smugglers.
Playing the film’s hidden card, Go Min Si transforms into Madam Go Ok Bun who runs a coffee shop.
“Smugglers” hits theaters on July 26.
