“Bitter Sweet Hell” is a black comedy-thriller starring Kim Hee Sun as Noh Young Won, the top family psychiatrist in all of Korea. When an anonymous blackmailer puts her career and family at risk, Noh Young Won teams up with her mother-in-law Hong Sa Gang (Lee Hye Young), a mystery novelist, to protect their family.

At the end of the previous episode of “Bitter Sweet Hell,” Noh Young Won was shocked to learn that the car found in the ocean had been rented by her husband Choi Jae Jin (Kim Nam Hee).

In newly released stills from the drama’s next episode, Noh Young Won and Hong Sa Gang face off in a heated encounter in front of the police station. After being investigated by the police regarding Choi Jae Jin’s disappearance, Noh Young Won and Hong Sa Gang leave the station together—Noh Young Won with her brother Noh Young Min (2PM’s Chansung) by her side, and Hong Sa Gang with Park Kang Sung (Ahn Gil Kang).

While Noh Young Won coldly brings up Choi Jae Jin’s death, believing that he has passed away even though no body has been found, Hong Sa Gang refuses to believe that her son is dead, clinging to the last shred of hope that he might still be alive.

Despite Hong Sa Gang’s fury as she gets emotional about her missing son, Noh Young Won remains resolute and unmoved—making the two men with them visibly uncomfortable as they stand awkwardly off to the side.

The “Bitter Sweet Hell” production team commented, “In this scene, when faced with the shocking incident of Kim Nam Hee’s presumed death, his wife Kim Hee Sun and his mother Lee Hye Young face off with completely different opinions, and both refuse to back down.”

They went on to tease, “To find out the truth and inside story regarding Kim Nam Hee’s death, please look forward to Episode 5 of ‘Bitter Sweet Hell,’ in which an even more shocking twist awaits.”
