Kim Hee Sun can’t shake her suspicions about Lee Hye Young on MBC’s “Bitter Sweet Hell”!
“Bitter Sweet Hell” is a black comedy-thriller starring Kim Hee Sun as Noh Young Won, the top family psychiatrist in all of Korea. When an anonymous blackmailer puts her career and family at risk, Noh Young Won teams up with her mother-in-law Hong Sa Gang (Lee Hye Young), a mystery novelist, to protect their family.
Previously on “Bitter Sweet Hell,” Noh Young Won learned the shocking secrets of both her father-in-law and her husband. The latest episode of the drama ended on a suspenseful cliffhanger, with Noh Young Won finding Oh Ji Eun (Shin So Yul) covered in blood on the ground—only for Hong Sa Gang to make a chilling entrance and declare, “She’s not dead.”
In newly released stills from the drama’s upcoming third episode, Noh Young Won and Hong Sa Gang share an uncomfortable confrontation at the hospital where Oh Ji Eun has been transferred. Suspicious of Hong Sa Gang, Noh Young Won begins an impromptu interrogation where she lobs question after question at her mother-in-law, starting with why she was at the vacation home in Yangpyeong in the first place.
Meanwhile, in stark contrast to her usual icy demeanor, Hong Sa Gang acts uncharacteristically awkward as she avoids Noh Young Won’s probing gaze. This unusual behavior only serves to fuel Noh Young Won’s growing suspicions, but when Noh Young Won tries to pry further, Hong Sa Gang comforts her with an affectionate tone of voice before quickly fleeing the scene.
The “Bitter Sweet Hell” production team teased, “In this scene, Noh Young Won and Hong Sa Gang face off after finding Oh Ji Eun at the vacation home. The scene marks the first time the two reveal their suspicions and distrust of one another.”
They added, “Please look forward to Episode 3 of ‘Bitter Sweet Hell,’ in which Kim Hee Sun and Lee Hye Young’s flawless character portrayals and passionate, heartfelt acting will shine even brighter.”
The third episode of “Bitter Sweet Hell” will air on May 31 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
