[K-Pop]: YG Entertainment Welcomes New CEO After Resignation Of Yang Min Suk
Jun 20, 2019
After Yang MinSuk stepped down as the CEO of YG Entertainment, many fans probably might have been wondering who would be filling in for the position as the head of the agency. With company founder Yang HyunSuk also having declared that he will no longer be representing the agency as the frontman, the question of who would pick things up in the current turbulent times was one that many have been asking. Of course, it is also worth noting that Yang HyunSuk was never actually the official CEO of YG Entertainment to begin with, as official documents have proven that he was merely a stakeholder.
The former managing director of YG Entertainment, Hwang BoKyung (left),has recently been appointed to the position of CEO, and issued an official statement stating:
“In these difficult times, we feel that a greater sense of responsibility is needed now more than ever. YG Entertainment aims to lay down a new foundation in order to move forward.”
Meanwhile, a petition demanding for a halt on YG Entertainment activities has been made to the government, with having accumulated over 30,000 signatures as of June 12th.
