Dramatic opening with chaos, blood, and tears

My Country opens with a fight between Seo Hwi (Yang Se Jong) and Nam Seon Ho (Woo Do Hwan). However, it was soon revealed, that the two men had a close relationship. The film's background is set to 10 years ago, when the two of them were still best friends. Seo Hwi is the son of the best swordsman Cao Ly - who was unjustly accused and committed suicide when he was young. In contrast, Seon Ho is the illegitimate son of an official. Despite their differences, the two of them are the most intimate friends, and are also the two best martial arts young people in the whole city. Thus, without guessing, the audience knew that the two male leads would meet on either side of the battle later.
At this time, the Goryeo Dynasty has gradually collapsed. The people had no voice, and the soldiers arrested people indiscriminately, the officials ate bribes and killed them all the time. Seo Hwi was the son of a sinner, so no matter how good he was, he was often horrified and worked so hard he still didn't have enough money. Because of poverty, he was deprived of his own things: the right to be treated like a human. The blood and tears of Seo Hwi and the other small parts of My Country have created an opening that makes the audience cannot help but be impressed.

When friendship makes people more tormented

In most Korean dramas, love always appears as the main content. My Country is no exception. Only two episodes saw the first kiss of Seo Hwi and Hee Jae (Seolhyun). Hee Jae lives in a famous brothel. Her personality, strong, dare to go against the aggression war. After many incidents, both of the male leads showed signs of affection for her, but her heart soon belonged to Seo Hwi.

But the love story of Seo Hwi and Hee Jae is completely "inferior" compared to the friendship of the two male leads. In fact, Seo Hwi is better than Seon Ho in martial arts, so Seon Ho can't help but be jealous. However, the envy of Seon Ho, despite the status of Seo Hwi, all negative emotions are clearly shown. Yet they still practiced martial arts for so many years, fighting side by side with the army, doing other crazy things as well. Therefore, the special close friendship of the two male leads was so impressive that most of the audience comments only mentioned two people, not the female lead.

The reason that pushed Seo Hwi and Seon Ho two different paths is not entirely because of the female lead, but because of a serious misunderstanding between the two. The convincing acting of the entire cast

Owning an attractive script is the premise, also conveying the whole beauty of the film to the audience depends on the ability of the cast. The entire main cast of "My Country" has successfully completed its mission, especially the two male leads Yang Se Jong and Woo Do Hwan. It is Yang Se Jong's flexible acting ability that makes a swordsman Seo Hwi miserable but difficult, making the audience swept away by each character's events. Woo Do Hwan makes people angry and hurt a Nam Seon Ho who is torn between friendship and the desire to prove himself. Most importantly, the interactions of the two actors are very good, making everyone look admiring and later heartbreaking for a friendship.

Contrary to the worries and criticism before the drama aired, Seolhyun showed the improvement in how to express emotions and luckily, this character image also suited her so it did not make the audience uncomfortable. The actress and the two male actors are backed by actors such as Jang Hyuk, Ahn Nae Sang, Kim Young Chul, helping My Country own an impressive cast from front to back.
