[K-Drama]: Korean upcoming dramas will release in August 2019

1. WELCOME 2 LIFE (05/08)

 

Welcome 2 Life

 

"Welcome 2 Life" centers around the story of cunning lawyer Lee Jae Sang, who would do everything in his power, may it be good or bad, to win his case. Unfortunately, he met a car accident.  From there, his life will change as he gets trapped to a parallel world. Instead of his former job, he will become an upright prosecutor.

 

Returning to the small screen since Blow Breeze, Lim Ji Yeon suits up as the story’s female lead. In Lee Jae Sang’s real world, she plays the role of strong-willed detective, Ra Si On. Also, she is Jae Sang’s former lover, but they are not at all friendly. Interestingly, in the other world, she is a supportive and loving wife to Jae Sang, as he performs his duty as an honorable prosecutor.

 

Rounding up the cast is Kwak Si Yang (Chicago Typewriter). In both worlds, he will portray the role of Si On’s partner detective. Peering intently, his image shows unfazed attitude and cryptic message of his roles in both worlds.

 

Helming the project is Director Kim Geun Heong. His portfolio boasts hit period dramas such as Jumong, Queen Seon Deok, and Yi San among others. Penning the series is Yoo Hee Kyung.

 

 

2. I WANNA HEAR YOUR SONG (05/08)

 

2019 Korean Dramas

 

Aiming to present mystery, real youthful romance, and music, I Wanna Hear Your Song is KBS2’s newest summer treat. Kim Se Jeong (School 2017) plays the role of a timpanist, who lost memories of a murder that she witnessed before.

 

Yeon Woo Jin (Queen For Seven Days) will play the male lead, with Song Jae Rim and Park Ji Yeon rounding up the main cast. The three work as a pianist, orchestra director and violinist.

 

"I Wanna Hear Your Song" is scheduled to premiere on August 5.

 

 

3. BE MELODRAMATIC (09/08)

 

[K-Drama]: Korean upcoming dramas will release in August 2019

 

"Be Melodramatic" is an upcoming jTBC romantic comedy drama about the lives of thirty-year-old career women. It will follow the stories of three best friends as they experience life’s ups and downs.

 

Actress Chun Woo Hee (Argon) plays Im Jin Joo, a drama series writer. She has a lot of emotional baggage. Her character’s personality is quite unique. Jeon Yeo Bin (Save Me), who challenges herself in her first starring role, portrays Lee Eun Jung. She is a documentary director, and described as “the most rational of the characters”. Her dark story and distinct charm add intrigue to her character.

 

Playing the role Hwang Han Joo is actress Han Ji Eun (100 Days My Prince). She is the Marketing Director of a drama production company. Despite her many struggles, she is quick to laugh and always keep a positive attitude.

 

Joining the female leads are actors Ahn Jae Hong (Fight For My Way) and Gong Myung (Feel Good To Die). Ahn will give life to Son Beom Soo, a successful director who lost his drive and interest in his work. Meanwhile, Gong Myung will play Choo Jae Hoon, a colleague of Hwang Han J

 

"Be Melodramatic" eyes its premiere on August 9.

 

 

4. CATCH THE GHOST (26/08)

 

[K-Drama]: Korean upcoming dramas will release in August 2019

 

"Catch The Ghost" is an investigative romance drama about a group of  police officers assigned to patrol the subway stations. Yoo Ryeong (Moon), is a passionate woman who applied to become one because she wanted to look for her missing sister. Yoo Ryeong also has unique abilities that enable her to catch criminals. Go Ji Seok (Kim Sun Ho) cleans up and covers after her mishaps at work.

 

"Catch The Ghost" will premiere via tvN on August 26.

 

 

5. STRANGERS FROM HELL (31/08)

 

2019 Korean Dramas

 

Combining the format of film and drama, Im Si Wan and Lee Dong Wook spearhead the second OCN’s “dramatic cinema” project. The well-loved webtoon Strangers from Hell will be the actors’ first drama project in the network known for thriller series.

 

Garnering impressive readership, the television re-imagination will be helmed by Director Lee Chang Hee. His portfolio includes films, The Vanished and Haunters. Penning the series is Jung Yi Do whose recent works include "Save Me" and "Item".

 

Slated for August 31 broadcast, the drama depicts the story of Yoon Jong Woo. To be portrayed by Im Si Wan, Jong Woo is a writer who will move in to a hostel in Seoul.

 

While encountering strange people and cryptic events, he starts to change. Meanwhile, Lee Dong Wook is set to play the role of a dentist, who will be closely acquainted with Im’s character.
