Season 2 of “Pachinko” has released a sneak peek of Jung Eun Chae’s and Kim Sung Kyu’s characters!
Based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Min Jin Lee, “Pachinko” is a multi-generational saga of war and peace, love and separation, and victory and judgment that spans Korea, Japan, and the United States. This season, actor Kim Sung Kyu will be joining Youn Yuh Jung, Lee Min Ho, and Kim Min Ha in the show’s star-studded cast.
In Season 1, Jung Eun Chae won praise for her role as Kyung Hee, who warmly welcomes Sunja (Kim Min Ha) to Japan. Jung Eun Chae’s performance stood out for its genuine portrayal of staying calm amid harsh realities and revealing deep-seated fears.
In Season 2, Jung Eun Chae will continue to evolve as an actress. Set in 1945 amid the turmoil of World War II, she will portray Kyung Hee’s growing strength as she works to support her family with Sunja. Her role will showcase a more mature and nuanced emotional range amid the changing circumstances.
Kim Sung Kyu, known for his powerful performances and dramatic character changes in films such as “The Outlaws” and “The Gangster, the Cop, the Devil,” is drawing attention with his new role in Season 2 of “Pachinko.” The latest trailer features him alongside Jung Eun Chae, sparking interest in their characters’ new storyline and increasing anticipation for his impact on the series. Season 2 will consist of eight episodes, which will be released one at a time each week starting from August 23 until October 11.
