Nov 22, 2018
Jo Jung Suk and Yoon Shi Yoon may be working together in a new drama!
On November 22, it was reported that the two actors will be starring in upcoming SBS drama “Ugeumchi” (literal title).
Regarding the reports, Jo Jung Suk’s agency JS Company responded, “‘Ugeumchi’ is one of the projects he has been offered,” and added, “Nothing has been confirmed. He is reviewing the offers.”
Yoon Shi Yoon’s agency commented, “He is positively considering the offer.”
The drama is about the Battle of Ugeumchi that took place in 1894 during the Donghak Peasant Revolution.
Jo Jung Suk and Yoon Shi Yoon have received offers to play the roles of brothers who have different mothers but share the same father, who is a notorious and wealthy government employee. Jo Jung Suk has been cast as Baek Yi Kang, who was born out of wedlock as the son of his father’s wife’s slave. Yoon Shi Yoon has been cast as the family’s youngest son Baek Yi Hyun, who is the first “rightful son” born under the wife.
Baek Yi Kang, with a sharp gaze and cold smile, speaks with an invidious tone. Baek Yi Hyun, however, has a graceful appearance, personality, and speaking manner.
“Ugeumchi” is written by Jung Hyun Min of “Jeong Do Jeon” and “Assembly” and will be directed by Shin Kyung Soo of “Three Days,” “Six Flying Dragons,” and “Secret Door.” It is scheduled to air next spring as a Wednesday-Thursday drama via SBS.
