BTS’s Jimin has broken his own record on UK’s Official Charts!
On March 31 local time, the United Kingdom’s Official Charts (typically regarded as the U.K. equivalent to Billboard’s U.S. charts) announced that “Like Crazy” by BTS’s Jimin had debuted on the Official Singles Chart at No. 8.
Just last week, Jimin became the highest-charting K-pop soloist when his pre-release track “Set Me Free Pt. 2” debuted on the UK Official Singles Chart at No. 30. With “Like Crazy” debuting at No. 8, Jimin has now broken his own record and joined his group BTS as the only two Korean artists ever to debut in the top 10 of the Official Singles Chart.
Jimin’s second UK Top 100 hit marks BTS’s sixth solo project on the charts following “Set Me Free Pt. 2,” J-Hope’s “on the street” collaboration with J. Cole at No. 37, Jin’s “The Astronaut” at No. 61, Jungkook’s “Stay Alive” (produced by Suga) at No. 89, and RM’s “Indigo” on the Official Albums Chart at No. 45.
As a group, BTS has four songs that have ranked in the top 10 of the Official Singles Chart, including “Dynamite,” “Life Goes On,” “Butter,” and “My Universe” with Coldplay. On the UK Official Albums Chart, BTS has two No. 1 hits with “Map of the Soul: Persona” and “Map of the Soul: 7.”
This past week, Jimin scored two music show wins for “Like Crazy” and became the first solo artist in Hanteo history to sell over a million copies on its first day.
Congratulations to Jimin!
