HYBE will be taking legal action in protection of NewJeans.
Along with the ongoing conflict between HYBE and its label ADOR, HYBE released a statement on April 25 sharing what’s ahead for NewJeans’s activities and their plans to take legal action.
The statement reads as follows:
"Hello.
This is HYBE.
We would like to inform you about the legal response for the protection of NewJeans’ rights.
NewJeans plans to continue a variety of activities, including the release of a double single in May and June, in conjunction with the release of a new music video scheduled for the 27th. Our company is committed to doing its best to ensure that NewJeans’ comeback activities are not hindered.
Recently, numerous malicious posts have been detected with defamation against the artist, groundless malicious slander, mockery, and belittlement, infringing on the artists’ rights and damaging their reputation. Our company has been consistently taking legal action regarding NewJeans, but we have decided to appoint an additional law firm for the protection of the artists’ rights as we judge that the malicious acts against the members have reached a severe level.
In protection of NewJeans, HYBE will take all possible legal action by collecting all matters that infringe on the artists’ rights. We will take firm action, applying the principle of zero tolerance without leniency or agreement, in line with our existing legal response system.
In addition, we plan to provide support in all ways for the psychological healing and emotional stability of the artists. We earnestly request an end to the indiscriminate attacks and belittling actions against the artists.
Thank you."
