The love triangle between Han Ji Hyun, Bae In Hyuk, and Kim Hyun Jin continues to deepen on SBS’s “Cheer Up”!
“Cheer Up” is a campus mystery rom-com about a college cheer squad whose glory days are long gone and is now on the verge of falling apart. Han Ji Hyun stars as Do Hae Yi, a rookie member of Yonhee University’s cheer squad Theia, who has a cheerful personality despite facing difficult circumstances at home. Bae In Hyuk stars as Theia’s oft-misunderstood captain Park Jung Woo, who is a firm stickler for the rules but is also a romantic at heart, while Kim Hyun Jin plays fellow rookie Jin Seon Ho, a rich and handsome student who has always walked the elite path in life.
Spoilers
The previous episode of “Cheer Up” ended on a major cliffhanger. Park Jung Woo finally confessed his feelings to Do Hae Yi—but to viewers’ and Do Hae Yi’s own shock, she suddenly remembered in that very moment that the person she’d kissed while drunk was Jin Seon Ho.
In newly released stills from the drama’s next episode, Do Hae Yi continues to waver between the two men in her life as she goes on dates with both Jin Seon Ho and Park Jung Woo.
During the daytime, Do Hae Yi and Jin Seon Ho have fun hanging out and playing games together—but when they accidentally wind up in a precarious position, the atmosphere between them takes a different turn.
At night, Park Jung Woo takes Do Hae Yi to a date spot befitting of an astronomy student. As Do Hae Yi happily admires the stars in the night sky through a telescope, Park Jung Woo admires her instead.
Later on, the two students share an umbrella together as they walk back, and Park Jung Woo sweetly tilts the umbrella to cover Do Hae Yi, without caring whether his own shoulder gets wet.
However, just as the two cheerleaders were starting to get more comfortable, the vibe between them changes as Do Hae Yi gazes uncertainly into Park Jung Woo’s eyes.
The producers of “Cheer Up” teased, “In the drama, Park Jung Woo will gift Do Hae Yi with the kind of heart-fluttering feelings that she’s never experienced before. Park Jung Woo will reveal his own unique romantic charms for sure.”
Praising the two leads’ acting, they went on, “In particular, Han Ji Hyun and Bae In Hyuk will portray in fine detail the subtle changes in Do Hae Yi’s and Park Jung Woo’s emotions as their relationship changes. Please look forward to the ripened chemistry between the two actors.”
