Five members of GreatGuys will be leaving the group.
On January 2, GreatGuys’ agency DNA Entertainment officially announced that members Han Eul, Da Un, Ui Yeon, Dong In, and Hwal Chan will leave the group following the expiration of their exclusive contracts on February 1.
As a result, GreatGuys’ upcoming concerts in Japan (which run from January 12 to 29) will be their final activities as an eight-member group.
Starting from February, GreatGuys—who first debuted in 2017—will be moving forward as a three-member group consisting of Ho Ryeong, Dong Hwi, and Baek Gyeol.
DNA Entertainment’s full statement is as follows:
"Hello, this is DNA Entertainment.
First, we sincerely apologize for having to convey this sudden news.
We are informing you that the exclusive contracts of Han Eul, Da Un, Ui Yeon, Dong In, and Hwal Chan from our boy group GreatGuys will end on February 1. GreatGuys’ activities as an eight-member group will also end with their Japan concert, which runs from January 12 to January 29. We are informing you that from then on, GreatGuys will continue their activities as a three-member group consisting of Ho Ryeong, Dong Hwi, and Baek Gyeol.
After a long period of thought and deep discussion with GreatGuys, we agreed to have [each of the members] show better things on their own respective paths. We sincerely thank Han Eul, Da Un, Ui Yeon, Dong In, and Hwal Chan, who have spent the past seven years together with DNA.
We deeply thank all the fans who have loved GreatGuys up until now, and we ask that you continue to give your unchanging love and support to Han Eul, Da Un, Ui Yeon, Dong In, and Hwal Chan, who will be making a new start, as well as GreatGuys (Ho Ryeong, Dong Hwi, and Baek Gyeol).
