“Monstrous” has unveiled new stills of Goo Kyo Hwan!

TVING’s upcoming horror drama “Monstrous” is about the people who are lured in by a curse from “that thing” that shouldn’t have come out into the world and tells the story of archaeologists who chase after monstrous cases that have never been heard of. As a village gets swept up in disaster with the discovery of a mysterious possessed statue of the Buddha, the confusion from the people who face the strange terror and the process of chasing after it will deliver great suspense to viewers.

Goo Kyo Hwan plays eccentric archaeologist Jung Ki Hoon who researches bizarre supernatural phenomena. Following the death of his one and only daughter, Jung Ki Hoon starts up an occult YouTube channel titled “Monthly Ghost Stories” and is faced with a strange and unbelievable phenomenon while investigating the Buddhist statue found in Jinyang County.

The new stills show Jung Ki Hoon’s focus as he learns from a group of monks that a demon-possessed Buddhist statue has been discovered. He boldly sets off to Jinyang County, which is also where his wife Lee Soo Jin (Shin Hyun Been) lives, to investigate the situation like the skilled archaeologist that he is.

Goo Kyo Hwan commented, “Jung Ki Hoon is a character that has piled up a lot of feelings of nostalgia. I also thought it was charming that after working so long as an archaeologist, he transforms into a YouTuber without any regrets.”

When asked why he chose to star in “Monstrous,” the actor answered, “‘Monstrous’ chose me. I was waiting. ‘Monstrous’ is project with a charming ensemble and a plot with baton touches, like a relay race.”

“Monstrous” premieres on April 29.
