SBS’s “Lovers of the Red Sky” has shared a glimpse of its upcoming episode!

Based on the novel of the same name, “Lovers of the Red Sky” is a historical fantasy romance drama starring Kim Yoo Jung as the Joseon dynasty’s only female painter Hong Chun Gi, who was born blind but miraculously regains vision. Ahn Hyo Seop stars as blind astrologer Ha Ram, who is able to read the stars despite losing his sight, while Gong Myung stars as the romantic and free-spirited Prince Yangmyeong, a lover of the arts who falls for Hong Chun Gi.

The drama’s previous episode ended on a shocking cliffhanger, with Hong Chun Gi and Yangmyeong looking on in horror as Ma Wang began to emerge from Ha Ram’s body. When faced with the royal painting in which Ma Wang was once trapped, Ha Ram suddenly found himself in a painful struggle with the being inside of him—and with Ma Wang starting to take control of his body, he roughly pushed Hong Chun Gi aside, leading Yangmyeong to rush to catch her as she fell.

In newly released stills from the drama’s next episode, Ha Ram meets with Yangmyeong after that dark night, which he is completely unable to remember. During a serious conversation over tea, Yangmyeong wears a stern expression as he gravely tells Ha Ram to stay away from Hong Chun Gi for her safety.

Meanwhile, the stricken Ha Ram looks surprised by what he hears, piquing viewers’ curiosity as to what could have happened that night to make Yangmyeong this concerned about Hong Chun Gi’s well-being.

According to the producers of the drama, the conversation between the two characters—and the information Ha Ram obtains from Yangmyeong about his own behavior that night—will lead Ha Ram to begin questioning the things that have happened to him. Additionally, Yangmyeong’s decision to protect Hong Chun Gi will drive a sharp wedge between the two men, creating a tense, frosty dynamic that will add suspense to the story.
