Get ready for some exciting special appearances in tvN’s upcoming drama “Lovely Runner”!
Based on a popular web novel and penned by “True Beauty” writer Lee Si Eun, “Lovely Runner” is a new time-slip romance drama that asks the question: “What would you do if you had the opportunity to save your ultimate bias?” Kim Hye Yoon will star as Im Sol, a devoted fan who is devastated by the death of her favorite artist Ryu Sun Jae (played by Byun Woo Seok) and winds up going back in time to 2008 in order to save him.
On April 5, tvN released a sneak peek of the drama’s upcoming cameos by Girls’ Generation’s Yuri, KARA’s Han Seung Yeon, and Olympic gold medalist Park Tae Hwan—all of whom were huge stars in 2008.
In the newly released stills, Yuri wears a military uniform-inspired blazer that harks back to Girls’ Generation’s iconic stage outfits from their “Genie” era, reminding viewers of just how massive the girl group’s popularity was at the height of their fame.
Meanwhile, world-renowned swimmer Park Tae Hwan—who won a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics—hits the pool to face off against Byun Woo Seok’s character Ryu Sun Jae, who is a competitive swimmer in the drama.
Finally, Han Seung Yeon will be playing the DJ of a radio show on which Ryu Sun Jae’s band Eclipse makes a guest appearance.
“Lovely Runner” premieres on April 8 at 8:50 p.m. KST and will be available on Dramacool.
