JTBC’s upcoming drama “A Virtuous Business” has shared stills featuring Kim So Yeon and Choi Jae Rim!

A remake of the British television series “Brief Encounters,” “A Virtuous Business” will tell the story of the independence, growth, and friendship of four women who delve into door-to-door sales of adult products in a rural village back in 1992, when it was still taboo to talk about sex.

Kim So Yeon stars as Han Jung Sook, a virtuous housewife who once won a local beauty pageant for her stunning looks. She married her first boyfriend Kwon Seong Su (Choi Jae Rim) and lives a modest and passive life according to his wishes. Due to the conservative era she lives in, her understanding of sex is similarly restrained—she views it as uncomfortable, not to be discussed openly, and something to be suppressed.

However, due to her irresponsible husband Seong Su and their son, who couldn’t even get a new bag, Jung Sook jumps into the door-to-door sale of adult products. Though it began as a way to earn money with her own hands, she soon discovers a marketing talent she wasn’t aware she possessed.

The released stills show Jung Sook’s transformation. In the first set of stills, she appears gloomy and seems intimidated by Seong Su, who has a wounded face as if he got into a fight. In stark contrast to her gloomy appearance in the first set of stills, the next set shows Jung Sook with a brighter demeanor. “A Virtuous Business” is set to premiere in October.
