tvN’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama “Twinkling Watermelon” has unveiled new stills of Ryeoun and Choi Hyun Wook!
“Twinkling Watermelon” is a fantasy coming-of-age drama in which a CODA (child of deaf adult) student born with a gift for music crash lands at an unfamiliar place after time traveling through a suspicious music shop. There, he forms the band Watermelon Sugar with other mysterious youths.
Ryeoun plays Eun Gyeol, the only person who can hear in his deaf family and who leads a double life as the perfect model student by day and a band guitarist by night. Choi Hyun Wook takes on the role of the passionate Lee Chan full of Generation X vibes. Seol In Ah transforms into Seowon Arts High School’s cello goddess Se Kyung whereas Shin Eun Soo plays the cold and haughty “ice princess” Chung Ah, who has been deaf since birth.
In the previously released teaser, Lee Chan was confused when Eun Gyeol, who time slipped to the year 1995, called him Dad and told him to like Chung Ah, a name that was unfamiliar to him at the time.
Although the two face off intensely to the extent that they end up with nosebleeds, Eun Gyeol is unable to persuade Lee Chan and his stubborn attitude. Thus, Eun Gyeol newly resolves to manipulate his father’s past. By actively participating in his father’s life, Eun Gyeol aims to link Lee Chan to his mother Chung Ah while also changing his own future.
The newly released stills depict Eun Gyeol staying right by Lee Chan’s side while struggling to forge the future he desires. In addition to sitting Lee Chan in front of a desk to get him to study, Lee Chan actively chases after him at school to change the direction of Lee Chan’s future. Unaware of Eun Gyeol’s true motives, Lee Chan no longer appears suspicious and instead wears a bright smile on his face.
“Twinkling Watermelon” is set to premiere on September 25 at 8:50 p.m. KST and will be available on Dramacool.
