The HK Philharmonic's new season will focus on romantic works of the 19th to early 20th century, including pieces by Rachmaninov, Mahler, Brahms and Berlioz. Renowned German baritone Stephen Genz, award winner of the Gramophone Classical Music Award's Solo Vocal, will also perform Mahler's song cycle Sept. 13 and 14.

During this 44-week season, over 100 concerts will be presented; the HK Phil attracts an audience of more than 200,000 annually. The orchestra has also recently been nominated for the prestigious U.K. classical music magazine Gramophone's "2019 Orchestra of the Year Award" ― the first orchestra in Asia to ever receive the nomination.

The Hong Kong Philharmonic and van Zweden will tour Korea and Japan in March 2020.
