Former Co-Ed School member and actor Cha Joo Hyuk was arrested for disorderly conduct 11 days after being released from prison.
According to the police, Cha Joo Hyuk was apprehended and taken to Seocho police station on the charge of disorderly conduct. In the process, the police discovered suspected drug use, so they filed additional charges for violating the Narcotics Control Act. The police requested an arrest warrant for him on December 26.
It was revealed that on December 25 at 4 a.m. KST, Cha Joo Hyuk caused a disturbance at an apartment in the Seocho District of Seoul. He made a show when the door to the apartment he’d mistaken for his own didn’t open. The neighbors and security reported him, and the police came, but Cha Joo Hyuk continued to cause a disturbance. Eventually, the police arrested Cha Joo Hyuk at the spot for not leaving the scene.
Cha Joo Hyuk received a charge for disorderly conduct for insulting the police and getting into a physical fight. Furthermore, after inspection, he tested positive for drugs. The police are planning to request a detailed examination from the National Forensic Service.
In the past, after debuting as Kangho in Co-Ed school in 2010, Cha Joo Hyuk left the group to become an actor after several controversies.
In 2016, Cha Joo Hyuk was caught at the airport in Vancouver trying to smuggle ketamine into Canada. Urine and hair tests revealed that he had used weed, ecstasy, and ketamine. Furthermore, in 2017, he was caught for driving under the influence and hitting three pedestrians.
After violating the Narcotics Control Act last year, he received a prison sentence of 18 months. He submitted a statement of apology to the court after receiving his sentence. Cha Joo Hyuk was released this December 14.
