“Joseon Attorney” (literal translation) has released another set of stills as viewers get hyped up for the drama’s premiere!
“Joseon Attorney” will tell the story of an oejibu (an attorney in the Joseon Dynasty) who takes revenge on an enemy that caused the death of his parents through a trial. Although the drama starts with revenge, it will depict the growth of the protagonist who gradually becomes a real attorney that cares for the people and exemplifies how revenge stems from loneliness.
The newest stills feature VIXX’s Cha Hak Yeon who plays Yoo Ji Seon, the Joseon-era equivalent of the city’s mayor. Yoo Ji Seon studied diligently to enter the government office, growing up within a very prestigious family. He strives to become a fair and just figure. However, viewers will see how circumstances within this drama will begin to erode Yoo Ji Seon’s original intentions as he’s faced with a reality that’s driven by the logic of power.
Along with Cha Hak Yeon, actor Chun Ho Jin also stands in the spotlight. In this drama, he will play Yoo Ji Seon’s father Yoo Je Se, a man who holds great power and influence within the court. The father-son duo uses their power to control the movement of the nation, making them two very key players in the drama’s overall story arc.
Not only that, but Yoo Ji Seon is also tangled up with Kang Han Soo (Woo Do Hwan) and Princess Lee Yeon Joo (WJSN‘s Bona). Depending on how his relationship with his father develops, viewers might be in for some serious plot twists coming their way.
The newest stills show Yoo Ji Seon and Yoo Se Je going about their duties as government officials, living a rather luxurious life yet still being weighed down by the unavoidable burden that comes with such responsibility. What is the true nature of the father and son’s relationship, and what will this mean for the plot of the drama?
“Joseon Attorney” will premiere on March 31 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
