There is no doubt that Karry WangJackson YeeCai Xukun and Ju Jingyi have made their individual presence felt in the entertainment industry despite hailing from idol groups. Karry Wang and Jackson Yee as part of theTFBoys have grown up in the spotlight to not only become accomplished performers but also venture into acting as well. Cai Xukun, the leader of the boy band Nine Percent, shot up to popularity after winning the survival show Idol ProducerSNH48 alum Ju Jingyi has starred in several hit dramas including Legend of Yunxi and Legend of White Snake.

What people may not know is that these four celebrities have something in common having auditioned for the showUp! Juniors 向上吧!少年 when they were younger. You would have expected them to be a shoo in, but did you know that all four of them were rejected?

Back then, a 13-year-old Karry Wang sang a Jay Chou song but was told that while his voice was good, the young teen might've been too nervous that his voice drifted away in some parts. Judges did assure him that he would have the spotlight one day and there's really no contesting that.

Also as a teen, Jackson Yee showcased his dance moves for the audition but failed to impress the judges.  They noted that Jackson had a talent for dancing but the song he chose was too fast and Jackson couldn't keep up with it.  They also asked about his name that had four Chinese characters as oppose to the traditional three characters. Jackson explained that his name Yi Yang Qian Xi (易烊千玺) meant "a welcome to the millennium." He's certainly flourished as a dancer as one of the coaches in Street Dance of China

Cai Xukun's audition didn't go well either.  He chose to show the judges his versatility by reading poetry and doing a song & dance number.  Both his performances were cut short.  Judges told Cai that while he had a gift for song, he had a tendency to go out of tune.  Cai Xukun admitted that he taught himself how to sing and dance and had no formal training.

Ju Jingyi sang Lala Hsu's Oasis but never got to finish it and was only asked to sing two lines from the chorus.
