Netmarble revealed that BTS WORLD, the BTS manager game that was released at 7 p.m. KST on June 26, has topped the Apple App Store’s popular free games ranking charts in 33 countries around the world.
In Korea, the game also ranked fourth in sales, showing that the game is already doing well from the start.
According to App Annie, a site that analyzes the smartphone app market, BTS WORLD topped the popularity chart for free games in 33 countries in North America, Europe, and Asia as of 9 a.m. KST on June 27.
It is the first app released by a Korean company to top the charts in Western markets such as the U.S., Canada, and Russia, and the app also entered the Top 3 in major European markets, ranking second in the U.K. and France, and third in Germany, Spain, and Italy. In Asia, it topped the charts in areas like Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Indonesia, and ranked second in Taiwan.
As of midnight KST on June 27, five hours after its release, the game had already topped the App Store popularity charts in second countries including Korea, the U.S., and Japan, and BTS WORLD sits in the Top 5 rankings of a total of 82 countries (as of 10 a.m. KST on June 27).
BTS WORLD is a storytelling game where the player becomes a manager for BTS, and the group and each member appear as main characters to share various stories.
