BLACKPINK Becomes 1st Korean Girl Group Ever To Enter Top 40 Of UK’s Official Albums Chart

Apr 13, 2019

BLACKPINK has just made K-pop history in the United Kingdom!
On April 12 local time, the United Kingdom’s Official Charts announced that BLACKPINK’s new mini album “Kill This Love” had debuted at No. 40 on the Official Albums Chart for the week of April 12 to April 18.
According to Official Charts, BLACKPINK is now the only Korean girl group—and only the second Korean artist overall—ever to have an album reach the Top 40 on the chart. “Kill This Love” is also only the fourth album to achieve the feat (after BTS’s “Love Yourself: Her,” “Love Yourself: Tear,” and “Love Yourself: Answer“).

The girl group previously made Official Charts history twice last year—after becoming the first Korean girl group to enter the Official Singles Chart with their hit song “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” BLACKPINK went on to also become the first Korean girl group to enter the Top 40 on the chart with “Kiss and Make Up,” their collaboration with British singer Dua Lipa, which peaked at No. 36.
Congratulations to BLACKPINK on their impressive achievements!
