BLACKPINK continues to make YouTube history with their debut music video!
According to YG Entertainment, on June 1 at approximately 6:25 a.m. KST, BLACKPINK’s music video for their debut track “BOOMBAYAH” surpassed 1.7 billion views on YouTube.
Not only is “BOOMBAYAH” the first K-pop debut music video ever to hit the 1.7 billion mark on YouTube, but BLACKPINK has now become the first K-pop artist to reach the milestone with three different videos. Before “BOOMBAYAH,” BLACKPINK surpassed 1.7 billion views each with their music videos “DDU-DU DDU-DU” and “Kill This Love.”
BLACKPINK originally released the music video for “BOOMBAYAH” on August 8, 2016 at 8 p.m. KST, meaning that it took the song just over 7 years, 9 months, and 23 days to reach 1.7 billion views.
