After recovering from his recent surgery, ATEEZ’s Jongho is resuming activities this week.
Back in August, Jongho abruptly flew back to Korea during KCON LA 2023 to undergo surgery for a meniscus rupture. As a result, KQ Entertainment announced that Jongho would be going on a temporary hiatus in order to focus on his recovery after the surgery.
On October 12, KQ Entertainment released a statement announcing that Jongho was returning from his hiatus and would be joining the group for “M Countdown in France” on October 15.
However, according to the agency, “in order to ensure a full recovery, Jongho will avoid intense choreography and perform on stage while sitting or standing.”
Meanwhile, San recently confirmed during a live broadcast that ATEEZ is currently gearing up for a comeback.
KQ Entertainment’s full English statement regarding Jongho’s return is as follows:
"Hello.
This is KQ Entertainment.
Please read the following notice regarding ATEEZ member Jongho’s improvement in health condition and status for future schedules.
Back in August, Jongho was diagnosed with a “meniscus rupture,” and has since undergone surgery and rehabilitation treatment. Currently, he is able to walk and engage in light exercise as part of his daily routine.
After extensive discussions with the artist, we have decided to proceed with his activities in a flexible manner, so that he is not overloaded.
Jongho will be returning to group activities starting with the upcoming “M Countdown in France.”
However, in order to ensure a full recovery, Jongho will avoid intense choreography and perform on stage while sitting or standing.
Once again, we apologize for any concern this may have caused, and we assure you that we will continue to prioritize the artist’s recovery and complete healing.
Thank you."
Earlier in the day, Jongho also released a special cover of Park Hyo Shin’s “Wildflower” for his birthday.
Once again, we wish Jongho a speedy and full recovery!
