All 12 LOONA members have now parted ways with BlockBerryCreative.
On June 16, Seoul Kyungjae reported that during a trial held this day, the 5th Civil Division of the Seoul High Court ruled in favor of the five remaining LOONA members who had filed injunctions for the suspension of the validity of their exclusive contracts with BlockBerryCreative.
The decision was made after the court deemed there was an issue with BlockBerryCreative transferring LOONA’s exclusive contracts to Japanese agency Universal Japan without the members’ written consent.
As a result, the remaining five members who had yet to part ways with BlockBerryCreative – HaSeul, YeoJin, Yves, Olivia Hye, and Go Won – have now left the agency.
Following Chuu’s removal from LOONA late last November, nine members of the group (excluding ViVi and HyunJin) filed injunctions requesting to suspend their contracts with BlockBerryCreative. Four members (HeeJin, Kim Lip, JinSoul, Choerry) won their lawsuits back in January. The remaining five members (HaSeul, YeoJin, Yves, Go Won, Olivia Hye) agreed to the addendum agreement proposed by BlockBerryCreative at the end of 2021 and were thus unable to suspend their contracts at the same time.
In February, LOONA’s ViVi and HyunJin followed suit by filing injunctions requesting for the validity of their exclusive contracts with BlockBerryCreative to be suspended. Earlier this week, the two signed with CTDENM, a brand-new agency founded by Yoon Do Yeon, a former BlockBerryCreative planning division director and SM Entertainment employee.
After winning their lawsuits, HeeJin, Kim Lip, JinSoul, and Choerry signed with Modhaus in March. They are currently gearing up for their ARTMS project, which includes the return of LOONA’s beloved ODDEYECIRCLE unit.
In April, Chuu signed an exclusive contract with ATRP, a new agency founded by Kim Jin Mi, a former WM Entertainment general director who worked with B1A4, Oh My Girl, and ONF.
