ADOR’s Min Hee Jin Files Defamation Lawsuit Against Five HYBE Executives

ADOR’s CEO Min Hee Jin has filed lawsuits against several HYBE executives.

Previously, Dispatch reported allegations based on KakaoTalk messages between Min Hee Jin and a shaman, accusing her of stealing NewJeans members from Source Music. Dispatch claimed that Min Hee Jin was initially involved in the branding of Source Music’s “N team” trainee debut project but allegedly delayed the N team’s debut to debut NewJeans. Min Hee Jin firmly denied these claims and announced her intention to take legal action, stating that the allegations were based on illegally obtained personal KakaoTalk messages.

On July 24, ADOR released the following official statement:

"ADOR’s CEO Min Hee Jin and others have filed a lawsuit today (July 24) at the Yongsan Police Station against HYBE CEO Park Ji Won, Audit Committee Chairperson Lim Soo Hyun, Chief Legal Officer Jung Jin Soo, Chief Financial Officer Lee Kyung Joon, and Chief Communication Officer Park Tae Hee for defamation. The charges include obstruction of business, unauthorized access to electronic records, and violation of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.

The accused have repeatedly engaged in the unauthorized dissemination of private messenger conversations and personal information obtained illegally, maliciously editing them to fit their narrative. In April, the accused forcibly acquired work laptops owned by ADOR under the pretext of ‘auditing a subsidiary by the parent company’ with the intent to remove Min Hee Jin from her CEO position following her two internal whistleblowing reports. Through this, they obtained personal KakaoTalk messages. Moreover, they forensically examined a laptop that Min Hee Jin had reset and returned in 2022 when she joined ADOR, illegally acquiring personal conversations unrelated to work. Furthermore, the accused edited and distorted the obtained personal conversations to create and distribute press releases with false information about Min Hee Jin’s management and work performance, thereby generating negative public opinion against her.

The complainants have repeatedly requested, both formally and informally, that the defendants cease these actions, which negatively impact the artists and ADOR staff while causing public confusion. Despite these requests, the accused have continued their illegal activities up until recently. Consequently, we can no longer stand by and allow the ongoing damage to our artists and staff, prompting us to take legal action."
