7 Recent K-Pop B-Sides That Are Just As Impressive As The Title Tracks

Aug 3, 2024

While title tracks tend to get the most time to shine—air time on radio, stage performances, and social media trends—there are some truly banging B-sides! This is the time to highlight underrated songs on the albums that deserve just as much love as the title track. Don’t miss this list if you want to discover some amazing songs to add to your rotation!

In no particular order.

Stray Kids – “I Like It”

With the recent release of Stray Kids’ most recent album, fans are abuzz! Title track “Chk Chk Boom” is a unique take on Latin-inspired K-pop, but this easy-listening pop track is equally as unexpected and equally good. “I Like It” also tells a story through the lyrics, one that a lot of fans might be able to relate to. It’s easy listening with a surprisingly deep message behind it!

STAYC – “1 Thing”

A sassy track that’s a little more rap-focused than the usual STAYC material, the group really pulled out all the stops for the release of their most recent album. Title track “Cheeky Icy Thang” really showcases the vibe of the album itself, but “1 Thing” is a B-side not to be counted out! With some impressive vocals and a surprisingly rap-focused start, it’s a new vibe from STAYC.

NCT 127 – “Gas”

If you’re into some heavy hip hop, this is the perfect song for you! NCT 127 is known for upbeat dance songs that get you grooving, but this is the kind of song that you blast in the car for the ride of your life. If you like the energy of title track “Walk” and want to amp up the energy even more, then B-side “Gas” is the ideal choice. It’s impossible not to have your head bopping!

(G)I-DLE – “Bloom”

The iconic girl group is back with their most recent release, including title track “Klaxon.” It’s totally got song of the summer energy, but if you want to keep the vibe a little sweeter, then try their B-side “Bloom.” It’s a little more laid-back than the average (G)I-DLE track, but in the best way possible! It showcases some really sweet vocals and a subtle rap section that feels just right.

ATEEZ – “Shaboom”

If you’re familiar with ATEEZ, then you know that their hip hop and electronic K-pop tracks are exactly what you need to get any party started. The title track to their most recent release, “WORK,” is certainly no exception to that rule! “Shaboom” takes a slightly different approach, with a reggaeton influence that leads to a super interesting and creative beat breakdown.

aespa – “Live My Life”

aespa is a girl group known for unconventional beats, stellar vocals, and raps that ride the beat perfectly. The group’s recent title track “Supernova” is exactly that—but still stands out as some of their best work! However, “Live My Life” is a total 180 from the usual aespa sound. With a rock-inspired sound and some of their most powerful vocals yet, you can’t skip this one!

TWICE’s Nayeon – “Butterflies”

Another all-English solo release, this time from TWICE’s Nayeon! This B-side “Butterflies” accompanied title track “ABCD” on Nayeon’s recent solo album “NA.” It’s a high-energy pop track with a lot of fun summer energy, and it’s the kind of song that you could totally get stuck in your head. It also showcases Nayeon’s versatility as an artist with both gorgeous vocals and a peppy rap section that matches perfectly!
