Among the list, many webtoons are popular and well-known in Korea and sometimes overseas too. Korean media, Insight, came up with a list of 5 romance webtoons to be remade in dramas that will make the viewers heart to flutter with their sweet and romantic stories.

Many have high hope and expectations for these. If the casting is well-chosen, the drama might be very popular as their stories were already proven to be great and solid.

“True Beauty” (in Korean “여신강림”) is a very popular drama in Korea and overseas. It is announced to be remade. It tells the story of a girl that turns into a goddess thanks to makeup skills. The cast and the broadcasting schedule is yet to be released.

2- “Love Alarm“

“Love Alarm” (in Korean “좋아하면 울리는”) is also a popular webtoon. The drama is a Netflix original K-Dramas. Kim SoHyun, Song Kang, and Jung GaRam are the main cast. “Love Alarm” is a webtoon about people that want to know their true heart in a society where people use an app to find out who likes them. To be precise, the app is telling people who like them in the 10 meters around. The drama already started to be filmed but not date for broadcast are out yet. Many fans are waiting.

3- “The Moon That Rises In The Day”

“The Moon That Rises in the Day” (in Korean “낮에 뜨는 달”) has been announced to be remade in a drama. It is a story about a man whose time has stopped and a woman who is passing through past and present. The story of DoHa who cannot leave this one girl during his 19 reincarnations and YoungHwa who finally recognized DoHa at her 19 reincarnations. The cast and the broadcasting schedule is yet to be released.

The sweet school romance webtoon “A Bitch and a Punk” also called “YeonNom” (in Korean “연놈”) will be adapted this year. It is the story of a girl who is meeting the boy 3 years after she ended her one-sided love for him without confessing her feelings. The drama might be airing in the later part of the year.

5- “Mung Bean Chronicles”

The webtoon “Mung Bean Chronicles” (in Korean “녹두전”) is a romantic comedy set in Joseon. It tells the romance between a man who is disguising as a woman to infiltrate a community for widows and a girl that hates the idea of becoming a gisaeng. Kim SoHyun has been cast for the drama and the drama is planned to air on KBS in September (to be confirmed).
