tvN’s upcoming drama “Confession” has released photos from its very first table read!
“Confession” is a new drama about people attempting to uncover veiled truths that are hidden behind the law of double jeopardy. 2PM’s Junho will star as Choi Do Hyun, a character with a painful past whose father is found guilty of murder. Determined to prove his father innocent, Choi Do Hyun ends up becoming a lawyer in the hopes of saving him from the death penalty.
On February 1, the drama revealed photos of its starring cast attending their first script reading early last month. According to those present, Junho impressed everyone with his powerful take on his character, deftly alternating between Choi Do Hyun’s cold, professional persona and his gentler, more emotional side.
Yoo Jae Myung will be starring opposite Junho as Ki Choon Ho, a former detective who refuses to accept a verdict from five years earlier and embarks on a quest to discover the truth. The two actors, whose characters face off against one another early on in the drama, reportedly displayed remarkable chemistry during the table read, throwing themselves into their roles and playing off each other’s energy.
Other stars at the script reading included Shin Hyun Bin, who will be playing former reporter Ha Yoo Ri, as well as Nam Gi Ae, Yoon Kyung Ho, Ryu Kyung Soo, Lee Ki Hyuk, Song Young Chang, Yoo Sung Joo, Jung Hee Tae, Jang Jae Ho, Kim Young Hoon, and Kim Sung Hoon.
The producers of “Confession” remarked, “We managed to successfully complete our first script reading, which ran for a total of five hours. The cast displayed such incredibly focused acting that we didn’t even notice the time slipping by. Director Kim Chul Kyu, who had only seen the script up until then, also said that he discovered unexpectedly interesting chemistry between several of the actors after seeing them act out the drama in person.”
They went on, “We will create a drama that viewers can enjoy watching, so please show a lot of interest and anticipation.”
“Confession” is scheduled to premiere on March 23 at 9 p.m. KST.
